Citizens National Bank Donates to United Way
Citizens National Bank presented a check for $5960.00 to United Way of Randolph County as a part of the Citizens’ continued philanthropic community-focused efforts. The donation was the result of fundraising efforts and generous donations by the bank and its employees, ranking CNB has the third highest United Way contributor in Randolph County.
“This corporate gift to the United Way demonstrates Citizens National Bank’s ongoing dedication and commitment to the communities we serve,” said William T. Johnson, Jr., President & CEO. “Citizens has an 85-year tradition of giving where our employees and their families live and work, seeking to improve the quality of life. By supporting the programs and initiatives of United Way, we are helping those in greatest need with health, education, and human services benefits.”
Citizens National Bank’s contributions to the United Way add up to more than just dollars. The bank’s senior vice president and marketing officer, Kathy Leombruno, serves as an active member on the United Way board of directors; its employees volunteer and support United Way projects; CNB provides office space to the organization; and the bank supplies United Way’s annual cash calendars and sponsors the spring dance.
“The current downturn in the economy has caused both public and private institutions to realign their charitable giving this year,” commented Gary Clay, United Way Campaign Chair. “We are fortunate and appreciative that Citizens National Bank, along with other Randolph County businesses, continues to support the United Way as they always have. With one donation to the United Way, you fund 27 agencies that are helping local families struggle to meet even their basic needs.”
“Citizens National Bank is committed to helping ensure the vitality of our county,” said Leombruno. “It’s during the tough times that it is even more important for citizens, businesses and organizations to help others who are facing hardship. Non-profit agencies that lend assistance and resources for urgent needs of people require additional support when local companies are experiencing cutbacks and lay-offs. Collectively, we all can make a real difference by donating to the United Way. CNB is pleased to give a helping hand.”
Founded in 1924, Citizens National Bank is headquartered in Elkins with branch offices in Parsons, Beverly, Petersburg, Snowshoe and Marlinton. With assets of $283 million, Citizens employs 94 officers and employees.
United Way of Randolph County has been serving our local communities since 1961. A financial gift to United Way is 100% tax deductible and your donation can make a big difference in helping a neighbor, friend or member of your community. Donations may be mailed to: United Way of Randolph County, 309 Henry Avenue, Elkins WV 26241, or contact United Way Executive Director Bonnie Phares at 304-636-0516.
